Volunteer

Parents, families, and community volunteers are significant partners in creating a supportive and welcoming environment for schools. Fredericksburg City Public Schools (FCPS) recognizes that positive role models can have a major impact on student motivation for better school attendance, improving grades and test scores, increasing self-esteem, and self-discipline, decreasing substance use, developing social skills, increasing interest in postsecondary education and careers and most of all, increasing positive attitude about school (Henderson and Map, 2002).

For these reasons, FCPS encourages and invites family and community members to volunteer to support the educational experience of our students.
