On March 20, 2023, students from James Monroe High School's Environmental Science classes joined Downtown Greens to assist in a tree-planting project. Downtown Greens aims to plant approximately 810 sapling-sized trees at their new property by Braehead Farm. This effort will establish a "forage forest" to improve water quality in the area using the planted trees. This community-oriented, learning opportunity is an extension of the MWEE watershed grant that has allowed for similar experiences for FCPS students.
