Good afternoon, Tiger Family,
This is your Principal Mr. Ventura with your weekly update. As we enter another exciting week at Walker-Grant, I would like to share some important updates and reminders with you.
Halloween at W-GMS
As Halloween is just around the corner, we'd like to share some guidelines regarding student dress-up for the occasion.
-In order to promote a feeling of safety and security within our schools, costumes should not include violent or gory imagery.
-For safety and identification purposes, students should not wear face masks or face paint that obscures their faces.
-In the interest of safety, any costume props that resemble weapons, even if they are toys or replicas, are not allowed on school premises.
-Students must ensure that their costumes meet our school's dress code requirements. Any student(s) wearing inappropriate costumes will be asked to change.
*In line with creating a positive and inclusive Halloween experience for all students, we encourage students to consider dressing up as their favorite book characters. This allows students to express their creativity and imagination while aligning with our school's values.
Student Recognitions Awards Assemblies
Please join us in honoring our students for their quarter 1 accomplishments at W-GMS. Families are invited to our grade-level student recognition assemblies on the following dates:
-On Monday, November 6th at 8:30 am we will honor our 6th grade students. Also on Monday, November 6th at 9:30 am we will recognize our 7th graders.
-On Wednesday, November 8th at 8:30 am we will have our 8th grade awards assembly.
Attendance Matters
We would like to remind all families about the importance of regular attendance and arriving at school on time. Consistent attendance is crucial for your child's academic progress, so please make every effort to ensure they arrive on time. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances and illnesses may arise, we encourage open communication through our school attendance link. Your cooperation in keeping us informed is greatly appreciated.
Tiger Paw Enrichment Academy
Tiger Paw Enrichment Academy will continue next week. If you have not already done so, please consider signing up your student(s) to participate. Transportation will be provided.
After-School Clubs
After-school clubs have started and are held on each month’s 1st and 3rd Fridays. A signed permission slip by a guardian is needed before students may attend. Our next club meeting will be on Friday, November 3rd from 3:00 – 4:30 PM.
Athletic Events
Come out and cheer on our field hockey team as they host Holy Cross on Monday, October 30th. Game time is at 4:30 p.m.
