Off, Yondr, & Away – isn’t just a catchy saying. Cell phones and personal communication devices (PCDs) are no longer welcome during school instructional time. Why? We’re focusing on learning, building social skills, and improving mental health. But what happens when phones are not Off, Yondr, & Away? Read more by visiting our FCPS Cell Phones webpage. Find the Good in Every Day!
Positive thinking can have many impacts on your mental health. Research shows that when we focus on the good, we are able to better cope with everyday challenges. Take a few minutes each day next week to focus on the positive.
Monday- Make a list of 5 things you are grateful for today.
Tuesday- Practice positive self-talk.
Wednesday- Start a conversation about mental health. Need an example of where to start, ask your family "Has anything happened recently that made you feel happy, sad, or worried?"
Thursday- Drink some water! Our bodies are made up mostly of water and it is vital to keep us hydrated and healthy.
Friday- Take a break from screens (cell phones, computers, TV's, etc.). Enjoy fresh air or play a game as a family!
