Bus safety is important and our goal is to teach the students how to evacuate the buses quickly and safely in the event of an emergency. Preschool programs students did an amazing job following instructions during their bus evacuation drill. Fredericksburg City Public Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Friday, January 19, due to adverse weather forecasts. Staff should arrive two hours later than their normal reporting time. We will reassess in the morning and provide an update by 7am if a change is required.

If you see a piece of plywood surrounded by four orange marking sticks at various locations in the City, please do not disturb them. This is actually a method that is used to report snow accumulation to the National Weather Service. These were used during our most recent snow event, and they have been cleared with the anticipation we could see some more snow in the next couple of days. They are placed at four locations throughout the City: Walker Grant Middle School, Dixon Park, Memorial Park, and the Ballfields/ Community Garden across from Wicklow Drive.
