I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable spring break. As we transition back into our academic routines, it's time to prepare for the next phase of our journey. With the end of the school year approaching and SOL testing on the horizon, it's crucial that we prioritize focus and determination.

Maintain a balanced routine that includes adequate rest, healthy eating, and stress-relieving activities
Set clear, achievable goals and track your progress
Believe in your abilities and approach challenges with confidence
Attendance
Your child's regular attendance and preparedness for learning are vital to their success. When they attend school daily and come prepared, they seize valuable learning opportunities and set the stage for future achievements. That said, I'm thrilled to announce that Walker-Grant Middle School earned the division Attendance Award for February! W-GMS Cell Phone Policy
Please take a moment to review the W-GMS Cell Phone Policy with your child. Your cooperation in reinforcing these guidelines with your student(s) is greatly appreciated.
Cell phones should be off and out of sight in class
Leave phones in bags or designated areas when leaving class
Phones can only be used in the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch
Students are permitted to use cell phones after school hours
In the event of noncompliance, we will promptly contact you, and we value your cooperation in resolving any issues related to cell phones. Thank you in advance for our support.
FCPS Family/Faculty March Madness Basketball Tournament
The FCPS Family/Faculty March Madness Basketball Tournament has been postponed. Our first game has been moved to Thursday, March 28. Walker-Grant takes on Hugh Mercer. Come out to JM to support us. Game time is 6:00 pm. Doors open at 5:00pm.

FCPS Birthday and Holiday Card Design Contest
The FCPS Birthday and Holiday Card Design contest is open to all currently enrolled students in grades Pre-K through 12. Winning entries will be published on the division website and those artists will be recognized at an upcoming School Board meeting. The deadline to enter is March 22. Students may pick up an information sheet from the front office.
Germanna STEAM H Day
Please save the date for the Germanna STEAM H Day on April 6 from 10:00 AM –2:00 PM. If interested in this fun-filled family day of learning, please see the attached flyer.
National Poetry Contest
Is your student an aspiring poet? Encourage them to see Mrs. Moore in the library to pick up information regarding the National Student Poetry Contest. Submit entries no later than April 30.
