Good Afternoon Tiger Family,
This is your principal, Mr. Ventura, with a few important announcements and updates for the week ahead.
Today's message will be the last regularly scheduled Sunday message, as our 2023-24 school year is ending this Friday, May 24.
On Monday, May 20, it will be our last 7:40am to 2:40pm schedule. Starting Tuesday, May 21, we will use our early dismissal schedule. That means that Tuesday, May 21, we will use our early dismissal schedule. That means that Tuesday, May 21, through Friday, May 24, we will dismiss each day at 12pm. Friday, May 21, is also our last day of school.
Summer Break
May 27 through August 6 will be our FCPS Summer Break. Summer school will begin on June 5 and run through July 10.
Field Day
Field Day is tomorrow, Monday, May 20. If you sign up to volunteer, please check-in at the front office to receive your volunteer sticker. Please remind your student to wear appropriate clothing to be outdoors and to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
Student Medications
Reminder for parents to pick up any unused medications from the school nurse by the last day of school. Medications that are not picked up must be destroyed per school policy. If your child is staying for a Summer School, you must inform the school nurse, so their medication is not inadvertently destroyed.
Lost and Found
As the school year ends, remember to check the Lost and Found shelf in the front office and the Lost and Found rack in the cafeteria. Items must be claimed by Friday, May 24.

2023-24 Parent Survey
As the 2023-24 school year ends, we would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete the parent survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we plan for next school year. Regional Library Summer Reading Program
The Central Rappahannock Regional Library's Summer Reading Program registration has now opened. The program will run from May 15 through August 15. Students will earn 1 point per minute they read and can redeem those points for prizes! Happy reading!

As we prepare to wrap up this school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've all been on together. Our students have worked so hard and made remarkable strides in their learning. I am so proud of each and every one of you. You’ve shown resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence that fills me with confidence that you are ready for the challenges of next year.
To our wonderful 8th graders, it’s time to say goodbye. We will miss you dearly, but we are also so excited for you as you step into the next chapter of your academic journey at James Monroe High School. Remember, you will always be a part of the Walker-Grant family, and we believe in your potential to achieve great things.
To our students returning next year, enjoy your summer! Take time to relax, have fun, and recharge. We can't wait to welcome you back in August for another fantastic year together.
