Congrats to our Civics Bee participants for representing WGMS with excellence and making us proud!

Students advanced to the Regional Civics Bee after submitting essays on issues impacting their community. Of the 16 selected from WGMS, 14 competed and all advanced to the second round. Two students placed in the top five: Gabriela Johns earned third place, and Mikaela Hughes finished fifth. All participants walked away with prizes, valuable experience, and a deeper understanding of our democracy.

6th grade English kicked off SOL review this week with different reading passages and strategies! Today was their first Prove-It day in which they used test taking strategies to prove the correct answer and find text evidence to support it. Ms. Rahn’s classes worked in groups to find the answer and use the chart paper to PROVE IT. Keep it up during Strategy Academy, 6th graders! 🐯🧡

Our WGMS Jr Chefs whipped up a delicious batch of French toast topped with fresh berries. They were also excited to welcome special guests from the rehearsal of The Wiz, who joined us for a sweet treat! Beyond cooking, our Jr. Chefs are building skills in hosting and entertaining. They are learning how to create memorable experiences from kitchen to table. We love you! 🧡👩‍🍳🐅

Tigers Come Up Just Short in Nail-Biter ⚾️ The WG Tiger baseball team battled Prospect Heights in a thriller tonight, falling just short in a 6–4 contest that came down to the wire. On the mound, Shariar "Rocket" Raheemi was absolutely locked in—delivering an excellent performance that kept the Tigers right in the fight from start to finish. 🚀🔥 Offensively, the bats started showing signs of life as this young squad continues to find its rhythm. The pieces are coming together, and the focus remains sharp: continuing to lock in the fundamentals, rep by rep, day by day. 🐅⚾️ #BuildingTheFoundation #TigerBaseball

Walker Grant Baseball and Softball teams – Season Openers in the Books ⚾️ The 🐯 Tigers kicked off their Spring seasons last Thursday against KGMS. While the scoreboard didn’t fall our way for either game, these young ballers took important steps forward — building chemistry, shaking off the first-game nerves, and earning valuable reps that will pay off down the road. Proud of the effort, the focus, and most of all, the wonderful sportsmanship shown on the field. That’s the kind of foundation that wins in the long run.
