Yash is a dedicated and accomplished student at James Monroe High School. He serves as the President of DECA, is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and the Environmental Club, and is also the Captain of the Jayem Varsity Tennis Team.

Last week, some of our students embarked on an incredible learning adventure in Abingdon, VA. They explored the campuses of Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center and Virginia Highlands Community College, participated in hands-on laboratory rotations, and observed a cadaver using the cutting-edge Anatomage Table.
The trip wasn’t all work, though! Students enjoyed the dazzling Bristol Speedway Lights Show, shared breakfast at the hotel, and savored a delicious Chick-fil-A lunch provided by the Governor’s School.

Celebrating the Fredericksburg Optimist Club Student of the Month for November 2024 Stella Hensley! Stella is an outstanding student and dedicated leader. She has participated in a wide range of activities, including Youth in Philanthropy, Varsity Swim Team (State Qualifier), Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Lacrosse, and Girl Up. Stella also studied abroad at The Island School, served as a board member for the Ceili Leahy Day of Service, and is a Clean & Green Commission Student Representative.
Her hard work has earned her numerous awards, including the Excellence in Pre-Calculus Award, National Honor Society membership, and the JBF Environmental Stewardship Award for building the Bragg Hill Worm Bin. Stella is also deeply committed to community service, volunteering at St. George’s Community Dinner, Mary Washington’s Labor & Delivery Unit, and Tidewater Trail Animal Hospital.
With plans to attend a 4-year university, Stella is working toward her ultimate goal of becoming a Neonatal Surgeon.
