February is Career and Technical Education Month! 🐯🧡 Each Friday this month, our CTE teachers will be selecting CTE Students of the Week. Congratulations to the following students: Amy Sandoval– Career Investigations - 6th Grade students recently learned about the career, school counselor. Amy came up with a creative and fun event idea that could be hosted at a middle school to support student needs. Great Job Amy, your kindness and empathy for others would make you a great counselor one day. Zharay Monagreda Frias– Family and Consumer Science – Zharay is a confident, well-spoken young lady. She always has engaging input, and thoughtful answers. She helps others in her class if they need it and is a great student to have in class. Kalani Wheeler – Computer Solutions - Kalani has displayed initiative and diligence for owning his education. His behavior is a module to all students. Even when he is absent from school, he contacts his teachers to find out if he is missing assignments. RJ Boone Jr.– Career Investigations - RJ recently explored the career of a Cybersecurity Analyst. A cybersecurity analyst protects information, data and systems from cyber criminals. He did a great job creating an informative flyer to encourage positive online behavior. RJ has a good understanding of good digital citizenship practices. Karla Sanchez Menjivar– Family and Consumer Science – Karla offers thoughtful perspectives on topics in our class. She is unassuming, but the creative thinking she displays with assignments is thought provoking and interesting. She takes it upon herself to work on our bulletin board with her own time and is always very helpful in class. James Harper – Make It Your Business - James takes the initiative with his learning assignments. In the first quarter, he demonstrated how to buy and sell Stocks, Bonds and Mutual funds. In the second and third quarters he demonstrated a good understanding of all workplace readiness skills, entrepreneurship and starting a business.
